Addax
LAGOS. Powerex Limited was commissioned on this project with requirement for 2 x 160kVA parallel redundant UPS configured in shared-load default operation for critical IT services and the Server load at Addax Lagos head office, with an autonomy of 60 minutes on each 160kVA UPS. There was an additional requirement of 300kVA input mains regulator for the backup power infrastructure to further assure enhanced power quality of the system. The parallel system auto-adjusts from parallel-redundant to parallel capacity mode if / when required, and vice-versa if / when necessitating conditions revert. The solution has proven to be an invaluable investment to customer given the history or reliability, excellent performance and seamless support that have been the on-going experience since nearly a decade.

ESCRAVOS AND PORT-HARCOURT. Modern oil & gas operations require reliable IT services supported with resilient back-up power infrastructure. This was the challenge about 10 years ago when a parallel redundant 2 x 160kVA UPS (in shared-load operation) was required for critical IT services and the Server operations at Chevron Escravos, also in Port-Harcourt. Desired system autonomy was 60 minutes on each 160kVA UPS, with long-life battery bank. The parallel system auto-adjusts from parallel-redundant to parallel capacity mode if / when required, and vice-versa if / when necessitating conditions revert. The system continues to deliver excellent performance till date, almost 10 years after deployment at the respective locations, consistent with Powerex solutions over many years.

LAGOS. As usual, the project started with discussions about client requirements and preferences which, taken into account, guided Powrex solution for the supply, installation & commissioning of 40kVA UPS with Extended Backup and Remote Monitoring and Alarms via SNMP and 3G. The many years of seamless field performance of the system is a testament to the painstaking attention to details that accompanied this mid-scale, yet all-important project to client.

Addax
LAGOS, ABUJA and PORT-HARCOURT. There was need for enhanced power quality and multiple protections at different locations of client bordering on surge protection; over-/under-voltage protection; monitoring of phase-error, phase-loss and phase-sequence reversal auto-correction; active earth monitoring; and status monitoring.

ESCRAVOS. It is not uncommon to come across the need for frequency conversion from 50Hz to 60Hz or vice-versa in environments where different high-end machinery / equipment can be relocated for operation from part of the world to another in different electrical systems. Powerex has had unique opportunities of addressing this peculiar challenge on different occasions, two of which happened to be for Chevron operations at Escravos, involving the Provision and Commissioning of 400V 60Hz to 50Hz Frequency Converter system, 1,100kVA respectively. The continuous-duty operation of these systems over so many years is a re-assurance to client that they made not only the right choice with the selection of a right partner, Powerex Limited.

MEREN 1 (OFF-SHORE). This was another occasion where special electrical requirements (American specifications) UPS was needed at an off-shore location for critical operations. Powerex provided the UPS solution which for nearly 10 years there has not been a report of fault, downtime or malfunction.
