Client was concerned about energy costs and the
possibility of optimization with utility grid supply by way of improved raw
mains Power Quality. The solution was a hybrid of AVR and UPS, comprising 1000kVA
AVR for a segment of the facility load and 200kW and 2 x 120kW UPS for other
load segments more critical. The project was a reference in direct economic
value of improved power quality in real terms as the power savings profile of
the facility was immediately visible once the project was commissioned and it
was possible to utilize otherwise unusable grid supply whenever available.
